Progress is governed by laws and the Laws of Progress are very similar to the Laws of Motion:

– Progress will not happen when you stand still – there must be some change in your action.

– Your life will not go further/faster than the force propelling you.

– You cannot go further than the action driving you. You’re stuck because you’re not acting. If you want to see more, do more.

The only way to increase favour is to increase labour (Proverbs 22:29)

It is impossible to do better without knowing better but it is possible to know better and not do better; because there’s a gulf between what you know and what you do. It takes courage to act on what you know. It takes courage to change.

Sometimes what it will take for you to change will cause you pain and some disruption; and because you don’t want to pay the price, you settle for the lie and stay loyal to it – a prisoner, stuck behind the bars of your lack of courage.

Judges 6:11 – When you don’t have the courage to make the right changes, the abnormal becomes normal (- threshing wheat in a winepress).

Judges 6:13 – When you’re unwilling to change, you paint images of abandonment, and find reasons to defend your status quo.

How to Develop Courage the Gideon Way –

1. Believe what He called you (Judges 6:12)

2. Practice little obedience (Judges 6:25-27, Judges 7:2-7). Courage comes from testing God in small things.
