Ministering: Ps. Walter Ekelemu
Topic: Take the Advantage
Texts: Colossians 2:9,10 (TPT), John 1:1-3 (NKJV), John 10:34-36 (NKJV, TPT), Romans 5:15-21(NKJV)

Colossians 2:9,10 (TPT) – We are overflowing with the fullness of God in Christ. This means that we carry the Godhead with us every where we go – His glory, splendor, attributes, etc. We can do greater works than Jesus did while He was on earth (John 14:12).

Satan is always looking for who to take advantage of (I Peter 5:8, Job 1:7); that is why we need the Christ-advantage.

An advantage is anything that puts you in a favorable or superior position – gives you an upper hand.
Ephesians 1:20-23, Ephesians 2:6, Luke 10:19 – Our connection with Christ puts us in a place of advantage. We are incomplete without Jesus.

The purpose of our encounters with God and the revelations of God to us is to give us an advantage to make our lives better and propel us into greater vistas. It is a waste of Grace if our experiences only end up in a show of tongues and church drama. There must be proof that we have met with God every time we leave church. If we are indeed complete in Him who is the Head of all principalilty and power and who embodies the fullness of the Godhead; our lives should reflect God’s glory. The annointing is multipurpose – it should be evident in every part of your life.

II Corinthians 5:17, Psalm 82:5-7 – At the center of our struggles and our inability to fulfill our mandate is the problem of identity – we do not fully understand who we are in Christ. We are believers but we do not understand what we believe in. Once you’re in Christ, the old you and the new you should not have any resemblance.

II Peter 1:3, II Kings 4:2, Romans 8:16,17 – It’s not about the things we don’t have, but the things we have that we do not understand. It is lack of knowledge that destroys us (Hosea 4:6).
Ask God to open your understanding to know what He has freely given to you. (I Corinthians 2:9,12, Genesis 21:19)

John 1:12, Romans 8:16,17, – We are born of God therefore we have the nature and character of God; we are like God and have His inheritance. (Psalm 82:5, John 10:35).

Romans 5:15-17 (NKJV, TPT) – Nature cannot be removed but can be suppressed by nurture. You have the nature of God which is already an advantage but it is your responsibility to nuture that nature until it produces results in your life, by harnessing the advantage the nature gives to you.
Romans 12:1-2 (NKJV) – Don’t let the world nurture you. Nurture the nature of God in you until your mind aligns with what God says about you – until your mindset/actions are in sync with your identity as a son of God. That’s when the advantage begins to work for you. It is the only way we can reign in life.

Take the advantage we have in Christ and make it work for you.
Nurture your nature!
