Text: Mark 8:24-25 & 2 Corinthians 3:16-18 (NKJV)
As we grow in our journey as children of God, our position in Christ – our place of dominion and authority – does not improve or grow. Where we are in Christ is a fixed location —we are seated in heavenly places.
However, our condition in life is subject to change. It is possible to have a position in Christ yet still be afraid of life’s challenges.
Sometimes, our condition in life does not reflect our position in Christ. However, if we take the right actions, our condition in life will begin to be influenced by and align with our position in Christ.
When this happens, we manifest our full potential as intended by God. We walk in glory when we manifest the power of God.
If you lack an understanding of who you are in Christ, you may struggle to manifest His glory.
The Key That Unlocks Glory – 2 Corinthians 3:16-18 (NLT)
Fix your focus. Focus is the currency of success. Whatever you focus on will grow. There is a season in everyone’s life when you must learn to work in silence.
You alone have the power to control what you focus on. Rather than focusing on your problems, focus on the bright side. Direct your attention toward the positives.
The reason for stagnancy is lack of attention.
It is not always about what you focus on but also about what you choose to ignore. Some things are not worth your energy. What you choose to ignore will also determine your speed in life.
One of the Biggest Enemies of Focus is comparison. Comparison leads to insecurity, and insecurity kills focus.
If you don’t learn to focus, you will constantly feel restless, thinking your setbacks are caused by external forces.
Enemies of Focus
1. Distraction
One reason you lack focus is that you accommodate everyone’s opinions. The reason you struggle to hear God’s voice is because there is too much noise around you.
If you do not have a clear vision for your life, you will end up following someone else’s vision.
Silence the noise!
Sometimes, the breakthrough you need is hidden in your quiet time with God.
2. Disorder
Having too many things going on in your life can prevent you from focusing. It’s time to declutter—physically, mentally, and spiritually. No good results come from a chaotic space.
3. Delay
You may be trusting God for something but later shift your focus when it is delayed.
Do not allow a delay in one area to stop your entire life from moving forward. Fix your focus.
4. Discouragement
Focus shifts when discouragement sets in. Overdependence on others can also cause you to lose focus.
Mark 8:22-24 (NKJV) – To fix your focus, you must clear your sight. Some people have ended up in the wrong place because they were spiritually blind. If you are blind, you need guidance.
Prayer
God, give me clarity to interpret events in my life correctly (Mark 8:25 NKJV).
