Topic: We Fully Enjoy the Goodness of God When We Truly Know Him.
Texts: Psalm 36:7,8 (NKJV) John 1:18 (NKJV)
There’s a lot of misrepresentation of the character of God, in the body of Christ. God wants us to know Him properly.
Daniel 11:32 (NKJV) – Strength comes from knowing the true nature and character of God. This knowledge transfers the ability to do exploits.
An exploit is:
– Any action that reverses what Satan has done.
– Any action that births a promise from the pages of the Bible and makes it a reality that people can see and touch.
Every disciple of Christ is called to live a life of exploits. What we see in scripture must begin to synchronize with our daily experiences.
John 1:14 (NKJV) – Jesus lived a life of exploits. The word (promise) became flesh (reality) in Jesus – He fulfilled everything prophesied about Him.
God wants us to increase in our capacity to do exploits. Be hungry for exploits. Christianity that lacks proof is a waste of time.
Genesis 1:26,27 (NKJV) – God proposed to make man in His image and after His likeness. Then God made man (male and female) in His image but came to fellowship with them everyday, as part of the process of making man after His likeness. As they saw and talked to Him everyday, they evolved into what they saw. The clearer they saw Him, the clearer the image of God in them became.
The process of communion with God is an infinite and eternal process because God is infinite. Man is able to reflect all that God is, in incremental measure, as long as he remains in fellowship with God.
Hebrews 11:6 (NKJV) – Man needs to believe God for the process to continue.
Believe that God is who He says He is – whatever that is.
Psalm 119:68 – The God we serve is an absolutely good God.
I John 1:5, Jeremiah 29:11 – There’s no evil in God – no iota of darkness, no wicked intention.
The enemy understood that he had to get man to believe a lie about the character of God, in order to stop the eternal process of man reflecting the likeness of God (Genesis 3:5).
Fear is the emotion borne out of the thought that God is not good. Fear was first expressed in Eden after man’s disobedience.
When Adam and Eve were sent out of Eden, they inherited a deep suspicion and mistrust of God that spread down through humanity and worsened with each generation. We inherited the mistrust of God from birth.
Jesus came to show us the true character of the Father because He had close intimacy with Him (John 1:18). Unfortunately, many believers still do not look at the image of Jesus who is the true image of God (Colossians 1:15, John 14:9,10). The most expressive vision of the Father is that presented by Jesus. (Hebrews 1:3, John 10:30, John 5:30)
Psalm 36:7,8 (NKJV) – Our ability to trust God comes from an understanding of His loving-kindness towards us. The goodness of God flows towards us when we have an accurate knowledge and picture of the love of the Father towards us.
We do not serve an angry God waiting to slam you down. Our God is so kind and merciful that even when you make a mistake, His love immediately swings into action to redeem you (the Parable of the Prodigal Son; Luke 15:11-32). When God restores, He upgrades. God turns your mistakes into miracles.
At the wedding at Cana, Jesus solved the problem without casting blames or finding faults (John 2).
God does not commend sin, neither does He condemn you but He empowers you not to fall back into sin (the woman caught in adultery; John 8:10,11).
Psalm 46:1(NKJV) – God’s attitude and heart towards you is ‘how to get you out of trouble’. If you will accept His love and press into Him, you will find a solution out.
There is nothing that the devil throws at you that the Father’s power, resources and grace is not available to deliver you from.
A believer should never live in regret. God’s perspective and plan is to turn it around for your good. Come to him boldly (Hebrews 4:16, Romans 8:28).
We spend time to know God for ourselves so that we can see His heart and receive true strength to reverse what life throws at us (John 8:32, John 11:41).
The more you know about the goodness of God and the intensity of His love for you, the more invincible you become. Nothing breaks you.
The world is rigged to project that God is not good. Even religion portrays God as mean. You have to fight the system to press in to truly know God.
People run away from God because they do not know His character. God has always loved the world (John 3:16, Revelations 13:8)
When the world knows how good God is, their hearts turn towards repentance (Romans 2:4b)
God loves sinners but hates the sin. He loves sick people but hates their sickness, etc.
God’s ministry of reconciliation which we have also received, is to separate that which God hates from what He loves (II Corinthians 5:18). This is why Jesus died.
Acts 10:38 (NKJV) – If God is with us, we will replicate the ministry of Jesus.
John 17:3 – Knowing God gives us the power and capacity to separate people from the evil in them, starting with ourselves.
God never does anything for evil. He does everything for good.
Whenever the Father requires something from you He always gives you more back. You cannot out-give God. God does not shortchange you after you have made sacrifices for the kingdom (Luke 5:1-7) He is a good God.
God wants to reveal Himself to you individually. There’s a dimension of God only you can display to the world. God is calling us to intimacy (John 12:26). Relationship comes first before service.
Prayer: Father show me your real heart. May the process of communion continue in my life that You may show me Your real character. Father give me the grace to go to the next level.
